Below you will find
links to the forms the required Forensic
Science Internship.
As the Forensic
Science degree is a professional degree, it is
important for you to gain experience in the field or
laboratory before you graduate.
It is your responsibility to find an
internship that meets your needs as a Forensic
Scientist.
The
internship may cover any topics related to the area
of Forensic Science. It is preferred that you work
at a Law Enforcement Agency or Crime Laboratory;
however, it is not mandatory.
If you
are interested in working in a Forensic Science
laboratory as a career but unable to find an
internship in a Crime Laboratory, then you may
perform an internship at another type of laboratory.
You will need have your internship approved by your
advisor.
You are
required to keep an Internship Journal that details
the activities of your internship experience on a
daily basis. Your Internship Supervisor will have to
sign and validate your journal every week. A
1500-word report about your experience is expected
at completion of your internship.
For
every one(1) credit of internship, you must work 60
hours at the internship. A minimum of four(4)
internship credits (240 hours) is necessary to
graduate. You may take up to six(6) internship
credits.
You must
be registered for FOSC 4111-6 (1 to 6 credit hours)
when performing your internship. You may
NOT register for the hours after the internship has
been completed.
